Abstract
Within the background of the digital economy, digital transformation has driven the accounting function to extend from traditional external financial disclosure to internal operational decision-making, making management accounting a pivotal tool for manufacturing enterprises to achieve value creation. The home appliance industry is highly competitive, with significant pressure on cost and inventory control; the effectiveness of digital management accounting practices directly impacts the operational quality of home appliance enterprises. This research selects Midea Group, a digital benchmark in the home appliance industry, for case analysis. With the theory of technology empowerment, drawing on core literature on digital management accounting and combining the TOE framework, this paper examines Midea Group’s implementation path for management accounting tools during its digital transformation, analyzes the effectiveness of these implementations and existing shortcomings, and proposes optimization recommendations based on these findings. Meanwhile, this paper aims to provide practical guidance for domestic manufacturing enterprises of a similar nature in implementing digital management accounting. It also contributes to the body of case study evidence on digital management accounting in the home appliance industry.
