Research on the Path of Social Work Participation in Juvenile Procuratorial Work

Abstract
The revised two major laws have introduced social work into juvenile judicial protection and crime prevention, which can play a positive role in alleviating the pressure on juvenile prosecution departments and improving service effectiveness. This paper analyzes the collaborative practice between social work agencies and procuratorial departments in City Z. It finds that social work possesses unique strengths and can exert remarkable effects in juvenile prosecution work, which are reflected in four dimensions: protecting and assisting juvenile victims, educatingrehabilitating juvenile offenders, preventing juvenile delinquency, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of minors. Meanwhile, this study identifies prominent challenges for social work engagement in juvenile prosecution, including imperfect institutional mechanisms, unstable participation opportunities and inadequate social support systems. Accordingly, policy suggestions are put forward to optimize toplevel design and construct a sound social support system.
