A Study on the Folklore Ecology of Foshan Cantonese Opera

Abstract
As an important component of traditional Chinese opera, Foshan Cantonese opera carries the essence of Lingnan culture and the unique charm of Guangfu culture. In order to deepen the understanding of the essence of Cantonese opera art, provide new perspectives and ideas for the inheritance and development of Cantonese opera, and provide useful references for the external dissemination of other intangible cultural heritage, this study adopts literature research method, field survey method, questionnaire survey method, and meta-analysis method, comprehensively using multiple research methods to deeply understand the artistic characteristics, survival status, and practice and thinking of Cantonese opera art museum in the protection and inheritance of Cantonese opera in Foshan. Research has found that Cantonese opera in Foshan is facing challenges such as an aging audience, a shortage of actors, and a shrinking market. This paper intends to propose corresponding strategies to effectively promote the dynamic inheritance, scientific protection, and innovative development research of Cantonese opera.
