A study of the narrative reconstruction in Gladys Yang’s English version of Big Lin and Little Lin

Abstract
As an important carrier of cultural communication, Chinese children’s literature has aroused widespread repercussions in the world with its unique narrative and emotional expression. This paper focuses on the narrative reconstruction strategy of Gladys Yang’s English version Big Lin and Little Lin, and explores how it can achieve the effective international dissemination of Chinese children’s literature through the adjustment of narrative perspective, narrative time and narrative discourse. The research conclusion shows that Gladys Yang’s narrative reconstruction strategy not only faithfully conveys the spirit of the original work, but also greatly enhances the international acceptance of the translation. This practice provides valuable experience for the cross-cultural communication of Chinese children’s literature.
